Waterberg Wilderness Safaris has been operational since 1995. Its main goal is to offer a
professional, ethical, free chase hunting experience, based mainly in the Waterberg region
of the Limpopo Province of South Africa. We strongly support the sustainable use of wildlife,
and we use very selective hunting, as a management tool, on a number of large private game
reserves, in the Waterberg region. Our emphasis is the complete experience and the challenge
of hunting in a rugged, wild area.
The Waterberg is known particularly for its very big Kudu, as well as other spiral horned
antelope, such as Eland and bushbuck. Several kudu have been taken over the magic number of
60's. Waterberg Wilderness Safaris is dedicated to strive to hunt individual animals that are
in the twilight of their lives, and whose genetics have already been passed on to the next
generation. All hunting is conducted under the principles of free chase hunting and no animals
are hunted from vehicles or within sight of them.
Our Professional Hunters are all passionate, not only about the bush and its creatures, but
about conserving the game as well as the habitat, and all hunting is conducted on a sustainable
basis.
Waterberg Wilderness Safaris is privileged to be able to hunt in vast private reserves, where
game conservation is the primary goal, and where controlled, selective hunting is used as a
management tool, and not a primary source of income. Having access to large populations of game
means that very good trophy is attainable with hard work. As fifth generation pioneers in the
Waterberg we share with our guests our deep love and respect of this wild un-spoilt wilderness
and its diverse wildlife.
We pride ourselves in being able to offer not just the hunter but also the non hunter a fabulous
safari. Our non hunters are looked after as well as the hunters with their own personal guides
to take them on a variety of activities alternatively they can join the hunters daily. We will
tailor make your safaris to suit your requirements as well as the right form of accommodation for
your needs from; our own luxury lodges to the more rustic tented camps.
